Welcome to the Kukujumuku Privacy Policy (“Policy”)! This explains how we collect, store, protect, and share your information, and with whom we share it. We suggest you read this in conjunction with our Terms and Conditions of Use.

While you’re enjoying the Kukujumuku mobile application (including the desktop version) (“App”), our websites, or using our digital products and services (such as competitions or surveys) (together, referred to in this Privacy Policy as our “Sites”), we collect some information about you. In addition, you may choose to use the App or Sites to share information with other users, including your friends and contacts (“Users”). We may also need to share your information sometimes.

The App and Sites are global, and your information will be sent to and used in various countries regardless of where you reside. This Policy explains how we protect your personal data when we transfer it overseas, so please read very carefully!

The App and Sites are operated by Kukujumuku (also referred to in this policy as “we” or “us”), which is the controller of personal information collected and processed through the Kukujumuku App and Sites.

Registration Information

When you download the App and create an account (“Account”), we may collect certain information (“Registration Information”) about you, such as:

  • Login information for social media accounts that you connect to your Kukujumuku Account (e.g., Facebook, Instagram).

Once you register, you can review and change this information at any time by logging into your Account (except for your date of birth and location, which is automatically updated based on your device’s location if you’ve granted access).

Profile Information

We recommend that you think carefully about the information you disclose on your profile. Avoid sharing sensitive information such as email addresses, phone numbers, or financial details. You are responsible for the information you choose to share.

Profile Verification Information

For safety and security, we may ask you to verify your Account using your phone number or photo verification. If you choose to verify your profile photo, we may use facial recognition technology to compare the photo to your profile picture. Verification photos are not added to your profile and are retained only for verification and record-keeping purposes.

Purchases Information

If you purchase premium services, we will process your payment information securely for fraud prevention and audit purposes.

Geolocation Information

If you grant Kukujumuku access to your location, we collect information about your device’s coordinates to personalize the App and show you profiles of Users near you. You can turn off location access in your device settings.

Device and Photos Information

We collect information about your device, such as the unique device identifier, model, and operating system. If permitted, the App may access your device’s address book to add contacts.

Messages

We review the content of messages sent in the App to identify topics, sentiments, and trends. Personally identifying information is removed before review.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to collect data automatically when you visit our Sites or use our App. For more details, refer to our Cookie Policy.

3. Use of Your Information

We use automated systems and moderators to monitor accounts and messages for breaches of our Terms & Conditions. Accounts that violate our policies may be restricted or blocked.

4. Disclosure of Information

  • Moderators: To monitor activity and approve content.

  • Law Enforcement: To comply with legal requests or protect the safety of Users.

5. What Others May See About You

Your profile and shared information may be visible to other Users and, in some cases, non-users of the App. Be cautious about sharing sensitive details, as they may become publicly accessible.

6. Our Policy Towards Age

You must be at least 18 years old to use Kukujumuku. We do not knowingly collect information from children or anyone under 18. If we become aware of such a case, we will take steps to terminate the Account.

7. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no system is completely secure. To help keep your data safe:

  • Log out of your Account after use.

  • Don’t share your password.

  • Change your password periodically.

8. Linking Other Accounts to Kukujumuku

You can sign in to Kukujumuku using your Facebook or Apple ID. This allows us to access certain information (e.g., name, profile picture) to create your Account. You can also link your Instagram or Spotify accounts to share additional information.
